Our 60 second space odyssey flight (elevator ride is such an unimaginative description) to the 124th floor observation tower of the Burj Khalifa was just the beginning of this quintessential "room with a view" experience. I don't think that I can describe how I felt when I gazed out, and so far down, to the roof tops of Dubai. I know that I was incredibly lucky to be there; with my husband, my camera and my tripod. We stepped onto to observation platform at about 4:00 pm, so we had plenty of time for daylight and twilight views. More to come . . .

Casa Batlló
The streets of Barcelona are vibrant and full of energy. The tourists, locals and the architecture mingle to create an electric atmosphere that is almost palpable. Casa Batlló is one of the dominant architectural icons of modernist Barcelona. It was built by Antoni Gaudí between 1904 and 1906 having been commissioned by the textile industrialist Josep Batlló. I remember just stopping in my tracks as I first caught a glimpse of this landmark. The fanciful, pastel facade adds a bit of whimsy and contrast, to the grays and browns that surround it.
Muscat Fish Market
A street market, anywhere in the world, is one of my favorite places to capture life at its most vibrant, at its most intense. Everything is heightened: the conversations, the arguments, the odors, the colors, the textures. It's also one of the best locations for street photography . . . just don't sit down to capture that unique perspective!
