Intense determination is reflected in these faces, as another sun drenched day begins, in the ancient city of Tangiers.

A Streetcorner in Tangiers

I thought that we might spend some time in the northern Moroccan city of Tangiers. We took the ferry from Gibraltar to Tangiers and spent the day exploring this mysterious and exotic city. Dark alleys, hidden passages and over-sized colorful doors, were at every turn. Bustling markets (indoors and out) sold specialty items at prices set just for us! History and intrigue are in the brick and mortar of this city that feels like a village; an atmosphere suited to real-life spy stories and visitors with secrets.

Sometimes it's all about the journey.

Please Notice Me

I think that I jumped from the car before my husband stopped and pulled up to the curb! This house screamed to me (well actually, it screamed to everyone who passed by). I'll post more images of this corner house that possessed an alter ego of sorts - it seemed to reinvent and re-describe itself with every square inch.

It’s Tough All Over

When I asked this road-side seafood vendor how business was lately, he replied: "It's tough all over. But I don't accept food stamps any more - people just deny that they ever bought fish from me."

The Dock in the Mist

The moody, misty fog was pervasive, casting an eerie opaque blanket over the coastline. The perpetual warning of the foghorn was the background music for the anchored lobster boats, waiting yet another day.

Sunrise at the Pier

I’ll be flying off to Maine this evening for about a week.  Really looking forward to some coastal photo ops. and cooler temperatures!  I’m afraid that I’ll be “off the grid” so to speak, here on the blog and on Twitter.  Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment; I will definitely see them, even if I am unable to respond.  Take care and have a great week!   ~ Barbara

This is just one of several piers that grace the 13 mile long island of Amelia in northern Florida. Sunrise finds joggers, surfers and photographers grateful for low-tide and sun-kissed mornings like this.

Orchids and Glass

An exhibition of 50 original glass sculptures by internationally renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly were on display at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The exhibition presented Chihuly's stunning glass sculptures within the Atlanta Botanical Garden's lush botanical setting. Dale Chihuly's glass was showcased with the inspiring plant collections and offered a new way of experiencing plants and art.
